I moved to Bletchley from London at the tender age of 2 and have lived in and around Milton Keynes ever since.

I've spent all of my working career around paints, but only in a commercial capacity; sign writing, brushing and spraying.

I have 'dabbled' with artistic work in the past but I really 'got into it' in 2005, when after a short illness I found myself unable to do much but with plenty of time on my hands.

Although self taught, a I did get an O level for art at secondary school way back in 1976 and have tried my hand at water colour painting and dabbled with acrylics in the past, but now exclusively use oils as I like the feel and freedom they give me.

The main thing that influences me to paint, is that I just love doing it; the chance to capture a moment in time that tells a story, or create a beautiful piece of scenery.

I don't know if I'm on my own with this, but I do like to listen to music while painting. Anything from Bowie to The Beatles or Motown to Muse.

Along with painting my other interests are cricket and gardening.
