My nickname is Bez and that's what I like to be called, a girl that has worked for most of her life as a secretary, passions being horses and dogs - never art!

I have been single for many many years and these are the things that structured my life.

I trained and worked my horses, and rode out every day, did all grooming, cleaning, stable work, hay lugging, feeding - and competed in novice show jumping and cross country.

I exhibited at Open and National level, obtaining entry to Crufts. Never art!!

Never even gave it a thought! Then, suddenly, one day, alone, no dogs, no horses, I went to an art exhibition, chatted to the Artist and was hooked. That simple. I came home, bought some Acrylics, watered them down and painted a picture.

Although several years have passed since that first passionate embrace with paint and paper, I found myself trying out oil painting and joining MKSA where I found friendship and help.

I had my arm twisted in 2006 to sit GCSE O level; would I do it? - No!! No confidence, until a friend of mine grabbed the application form and shoved it in the letter box! I was cornered!! Terrified, I attended the course, but knew nothing about any of the matters that we had to undertake.

Gradually I found myself sitting up till all hours working on subjects, charcoal drawing, sketching, reading up, painting still life in acrylic black and white -all sorts of things. Anyway, I actually ended up with an A* - so there’s a motto here - "you don't know what you can do till you try". Sold several paintings since then too; attended art exhibitions, a few day courses and still got the good friends."
